Five Times The Royals’ Headpieces Made Heads Turn

Five Times The Royals’ Headpieces Made Heads Turn

Here is a confession: Headbands have been on our minds since Kate Middleton flaunted her Zara headband last year at the Royal Albert Hall. So that brings us to the next question – Who else among the Royals loves to wear headbands. Or hatbands (a headband which can be worn to an occasion where a hat must be sported). It turns out, many Royals love sporting the look, both young and old. Let us see who.
  1. Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie

The two little Royals, back in the early 2000s, looked gorgeous in their pink and mauve jackets at a thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral hosted to honour the Queen Mother on her 100th birthday.
  1. Kate Middleton

What is the best way to dress up for the christening of your youngest? Pair a regal dress with elegant hair accessories, of course. In a cream ‘hat band’, Kate Middleton rocked the look at the christening of Prince Louis by one of her favoured designers, Jane Taylor. The ivory headpiece, a padded and foamed wonder, featured appliqué flowers.
  1. Princess Charlotte

Floral headbands are a rage since one of the Royals, our very lovely Princess Charlotte sported one when she attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
  1. Princess Diana

Well, when we are talking about the Royals can we forget the royal diva, Princess Diana? She sported the headband look way back in 1986 at a dinner hosted by Emperor Hirohito in Japan. She rocked a show stopping blue pleated dress to go with her sapphire-and-diamond-encrusted headpiece.
  1. Princess Eugenie

Inspired heavily by Princess Eugenie’s holiday look the year before the last, we champion the cause of the turban headband.  Especially, the way the Princess, wearing a black silk piece on a festival like Christmas Day for service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate, looks beautiful.

So, it is evident that the Royals love sporting headbands of all kinds and colours, with jewels and in materials of various kinds. They have inspired many a fashion lover to adopt their looks and sport similar headpieces. In India, headband fashion fever is high as well, and if you want perfect twist knot headbands or embellished turban headbands to buy and wear, do check the Joey and Pooh website for a whole array of stunning headpieces.
